The official ISST CA-ST training for mental health professionals

Come and learn about how schema therapy can be applied to children and adolescent clients. Schema therapy is helpful for those young clients who are struggling with a variety of issues, including trauma, anxiety, attachment difficulties and so forth. It involves not just cognitive strategies but also experiential work, involving chair dialogue work, play therapy/sand tray therapy, imagery work and parent coaching.

--

Schema Coaching for Parents (SCP) is a form of psycho-education and parent work, which is often used alongside Child and Adolescent Schema Therapy (CA-ST).

Content

  • The three perspectives in SCP: empathy, understanding and modification of one’s own parenting
  • The House of Generations: a visual and playful way to show the transmission of maladaptive schemas from one generation to the next
  • Integrating positive schemas to break unhealthy transgenerational schema patterns
  • Practice sessions

This workshop counts for continuous education credit points according to the ISST guidelines.

It also counts as module 2 of the official ISST CA-ST training.
