Take your EMDR therapy skills to the next level and learn how to combine EMDR therapy with Ego State therapy to help your clients that are stuck and /or who are more dissociative. This 3 day workshop is open to EMDR Clinicians who have completed their EMDR Basic training (Part 1 & 2 and 10 hours of case consultation). It is a practical, skills based workshop to learn a variety of techniques to enable EMDR Therapy to be used safely and successfully with more dissociative clients or very complex presentations. The integration of Ego State therapy or ‘Parts’ work in your EMDR therapy can also be helpful when your clients get stuck in therapy and none of your other interventions has worked to help them move towards the change they hope for. The training consists of lectures, demonstrations, videos and practicums for participants to develop confidence to apply their new learnings with clients. The objectives of the training are to:
- Recognise a client with dissociative phenomenology through assessment and all stages of treatment
- Conceptualise a client’s presentation within the Adaptive Information Processing model
- Develop basic skills in treating more complex dissociative presentations
- Learn Ego-State therapy interventions, techniques such as Fraser’s table and more to support your clients through dissociation, ambivalence and avoidance
- Utilise advanced EMDR reprocessing techniques suitable for dissociative clients
All of the techniques taught are designed to facilitate re-processing of traumatic memories using EMDR Therapy with more complex and/or dissociative presentations.
