Bio: I am a clinical psychologist and family therapist with a background in the service-user workforce and the creative sector. Since training as a psychologist, I have spent several years working with children and adolescents facing moderate to severe mental health challenges, and now work with adolescents and young adults who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. I make myself available for one day of private practice, operating out of a service-user led organisation called Changing Minds in Mount Eden. Alongside this I co-founded and volunteer to help run Aotearoa Therapists with Lived Experience Network (ATLEN). I completed all four of my psychology degrees at the University of Auckland. My master's research evaluated a transdiagnostic anxiety support programme for people with multiple challenges including bipolar disorder and psychosis. My doctoral research explored service user experiences of antipsychotic medication from first prescriptions through to attempted discontinuation. I continue to contribute to research in the field of service-user perspectives and medication withdrawal. I draw on multiple evidence-based models to tailor assessment and therapy to your personal needs, strengths and goals. As a poet and occasional visual artist, I have a special interest in the way creative arts can be used for therapeutic ends.
