Bio: Dr. Jan Prosser is a Senior Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist (DClinPsych; PGDipAppNeuro; PGCertProfSup; PGCertCBT). She completed her training at Massey University, New Zealand, focusing on Cognitive Behavioral approaches, and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the University of Otago. She has also completed post-graduate training in neuropsychology with the University of Bristol, and specialist training in a range of other therapies including Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness based CBT, Interpersonal Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. Jan is a fully trained EMDR therapist. She has completed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Gottman Relationship Therapy and Schema training to advanced practitioner level.

Jan has also completed specialised training in clinical supervision at the University of Auckland (PGCertProfSup) and offers Clinical Supervision.

Jan has worked within specialist mental health services – adolescent and adult, specialist older persons services, contracted services to Accident Compensation Corporation (sensitive claims, psychological services, neuropsychological assessments and pain services), and also in the private sector gaining experience treating individuals, couples, and groups experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties. Her experience also extends to providing neuropsychological assessments in the public and private sector.

She offers psychological services, primarily in Hamilton, but may also be available in other localities as she has clinic days in Taupo and Auckland. She also provides teletherapy via Skype or Zoom.
