About
I have been working and living in the Eastern Bay of Plenty since 1999. As a clinical psychologist and systemic psychotherapist I have extensive experience in the areas of mental health and physical health and have worked previously in the addiction and corrections field.
People and their stories matter to me. I consider the client as the expert of their lives and offer non-judgemental and collaborative conversations to help clients making sense of their story, their struggles and their strengths. My approach is one of respect and curiosity. My therapy space is neurodiverse affirmative. I also offer online sessions.
My practice is grounded in Systemic Theory and Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) enriched with elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy and other treatment modalities when appropriate.
I apply a broad systemic lens when exploring the difficulties or challenges people present with as these are always embedded in a variety of contexts, systems and relationships.
Using FIT each session gives clients the opportunity to monitor their own progress and provide immediate feedback about the session to ensure they receive the most effective intervention.
