About
NeuroHealth is a specialised healthcare provider focused on neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation. We offer a comprehensive range of assessment options to track changes in cognitive functioning over time. Our services include brief screening and in-depth neuropsychological evaluations, addressing cognitive issues related to age (such as Alzheimer’s disease, other dementias, and mild cognitive impairment) and acquired brain injuries (including stroke, traumatic brain injury, hypoxia/heart attack, and infections like meningitis). We assess clients across most age ranges, and have experience seeing individuals aged 16 through to in their 90s.
As part of these neuropsychological assessments NeuroHealth explores elements related to cognitive functioning (e.g., memory and learning, language, visuospatial functioning, processing speed, attention, working memory, executive functioning) as well as psychological factors that impact upon functioning and rehabilitation (e.g., mood, anxiety, sleep, post-traumatic responses) and physical comorbidities that similarly impact upon functioning (e.g., pain, fatigue). This information is then used to create a clinical formulation, and based on this a range of recommendations can be made around rehabilitation, further treatment, or return to activity.
We are based in Christchurch, although do sporadically travel to complete some assessments outside of this region when requested by funders. The neuropsychological assessments that we complete are done face-to-face, rather than via telehealth, as this allows a more comprehensive range of assessments to be accurately administered and is in line with current best practice guidelines.
