About
Following qualifying in 2004, I spent 19 years working for Waitemata District Health Board in the Adult Community Mental Health Team providing assessment and therapy, and as my experience increased, working as a consultant. Between 2000 and 2004, I worked as an intern/assistant psychologist in elderly, forensic and specialist cognitive therapy mental health settings. I have been working part-time in private practice since 2010 and began full time private work in 2023.
I have provided supervision for clinical psychologists, psychiatric registrars and other mental health professionals. I have also been involved in the teaching and training of clinical psychologists, psychiatrists and other mental health clinicians in specialist areas.
I have specialist experience in the assessment and treatment of Depressive, Adjustment, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders, Psychosis, and a wide range of anxiety problems including Generalized Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Agoraphobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Social Anxiety. I have worked as a specialist in the assessment of adult autism ('Level One') since 2016 and in treating psychological difficulties commonly experienced from a neurodivergent affirming 'autistic framework'.
