About

Simon has worked with clients experiencing; depression, dysthymia, generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder with and without agoraphobia, trichotillomania, emetophobia, grief, burnout, trauma, concussion recovery and post concussion syndrome, loss and adjustment. Simon is a registered clinical psychologist (NZPB) graduating from Canterbury University in February 2012. Previously he taught at secondary school level and worked in human resources, establishing a consultancy, HR Direction, in 2005. This included facilitating behavioural interviewing workshops and writing HR articles for the Christchurch Press. Simon worked at CAF South (mental health services for 5-18 year olds) in Christchurch from 2012-2018 and at Canterbury University at the Health Centre from 2018-2022. He currently works in private practice across two locations, Huntsbury and The Psychology Hub in Riccarton. Simon is a member of the New Zealand College of Clinical Psychologists and the Association for Behavioural Science. He has two children, aged 14 and 16. He used to run track, road, and cross country at a national level and currently enjoys tramping, surfing, indoor football, running, woodwork and mountain biking. Simon was Chairperson of Big Brothers Big Sisters Christchurch from 2015-18, has an appreciation for good coffee and while he is undecided about mowing the lawns, he hates cleaning the oven.
