Role

We are seeking an experienced Counsellor/ Psychologist to join our Wellness Centre team. You would be responsible for counselling students from Junior to Senior School, including building relationships with the students to help promote emotional and mental wellbeing, self-confidence, and resilience. You will also be responsible for assisting with traumatic incidents or events which may require work after hours. Reporting to our newly appointed Director of Wellbeing, you will work closely with our School Nurses, Attendance Administrator and Chaplain to provide a holistic, supportive environment for our students.

The hours are 8.00am to 4.30pm, term time only, with school holidays off.

Experience needed:

Our ideal applicant will have a tertiary counselling degree, NZAC membership or other professional membership and experience working with young children and adolescents. You will also have the following attributes:

  • exceptional organisational skills
  • the ability to build relationships quickly
  • highly collaborative for working in a team
  • professionalism judgement and confidentiality
  • sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Docs.
